Sweetheart Bracelet

Circa 1940's

These classic Sweetheart-Bracelets are becoming more rare with each passing year. They were the ultimate rage during the 1940's, because they were so comfortable to wear and being expandable, they would fit the young girl as well as her larger grandmother.

Crafted in Gold-Filled, this version (American Queen) was made by Pitman & Keeler. The heart is 22 x 21 m/m in size (7/8" x 13/16", while the expandable bracelet is 15.33 m/m wide (5/8"). It will fit a 4-1/2" wrist and will expand to a 11" in diameter for the larger wrist.

Due to their low price, vintage appearance, rarity as well as being extremely comfortable to wear, these bracelets normally sell rather quickly.

Ceylon Sapphire

Old Mine Cut Diamonds

This extraordinary sapphire will dazzle your eyes from the moment that you see it. This finely crafted 14-K white gold heart-shape ring, contains eight Old-Mine-Cut Diamonds (circa-1870's) , equaling .50 cts. total weight. The rings vintage is later, circa 1900, at that time these older cut diamonds were utilized to  create this remarkable creation. At some later date, the major stone was replaced with this exceptional Ceylon Sapphire (Evident by three newer and heavier prongs and a more "modern cutting-style" of the sapphire). The ring is in excellent condition with all gemstones being safe and secure. Thus its actual vintage is from three periods of time as explained above.

The Heart-Shape Ring is 17.33 m/m wide x 16.49 m/m long (11/16" wide x 21/32" long), size 8-3/4 and could be size smaller. It has a total gross weight (Gemstones & Gold) of 5.4 grams.

The Ceylon Sapphire weighs 1.32 cts. and the Old-Mine-Cut diamonds weigh .50 cts., thus equaling 1.82 cts. total weight.

#Est-157                                    14-K Y.G.

Victorian Elegance

circa 1880's

Finding such a huge cameo, is indeed a rare find and it is rarely seen in the new or secondary market. This Victorian classic is typical of that 1880's circa, when such hunting motif's were hand carved into this shell cameo. As any cameo collector knows, what makes a cameo valuable is, its size, coloring, motif as well as the quality of the carving with attention given to every detail. In all of these categories, this brooch surpasses the typical and fall into a realm of its own.

The Brooch is 14-K Yellow gold, the bezel edge that has a scroll & floral design (that is typical Victorian), it is 63.00 m/m tall x 51.70 m/m wide ( 2-1/2" tall x 2-1/16" wide), with a gross weight of 18.6 grams (12.0 pennyweight) Its condition is excellent with the exception of a old repair (Look to the left of the dog's tail), this repair is hardly noticeable. Though the brooch is 14-K yellow gold, this pinstem is nickel-silver, (many older brooches used nickel-silver pinstems because of its hardness and stability to insure that the pinstem would not bend out of shape).

Call 20 jewelers or antique dealers in your area or go on-line and search 100 sites, the odds are that you will have difficulty locating even one Antique Cameo, 14-K Gold Brooch, in this large size.

If found, comparable brooch's have Fair Market Values from $625. to $1025., when they are this large and in such good condition.
